I didn’t grow up around money or financial education. Growing up, money was always tight. There were times when the gas, electric or internet would be cut off, so from quite young I knew I wanted a different life financially.
I just didn’t know how to get there. I knew people with money seemed to own property, and later I started learning about the stock market. I began investing small amounts and trying to understand how people actually built wealth.
When I decided I wanted to buy my first house, I became almost obsessed with learning more. I read Rich Dad Poor Dad, started researching investing properly and putting more of my money into building something for the future.
I took a job in an estate agency because I wanted to understand property from the inside. From there, I went on to work directly with private property investors, managing their portfolios and learning even more about property and investing. Eventually, I became a landlord myself.
But the more I learned, the more I realised how little financial education most of us actually get. A lot of the people I grew up around weren’t bad with money because they didn’t care - nobody had ever really shown them how to manage it.
That pushed me to take my own knowledge further. I went to university and graduated with First-Class Honours in Finance & Investments.
I wanted to create something that shows people money doesn’t have to feel complicated or overwhelming. A few simple changes to how you plan, budget, save and invest can give you far more control over your life.
That’s what Build Affluence is about - making money feel simpler, giving you a structure to follow, and helping you build towards a better financial future.

Growing up I had a comfortable life, Never needed to worry about money or have a part time job when I was in education. I was always told to just 'save' my money in a savings account. I was never told about the stock market until I met Darrio when working with him in a job.
Upon starting the gym together outside of work and then speaking about money & investing. I started investing four years ago with my first deposit into my account being £1000, I was nervous about doing so as I tried a few things beforehand and they didn't seem to end well. Since contributing to my ISA & SIPP weekly and just being consistent over the past 4 years doing so I have since built it to over £160,000 with the results to prove it. This is across both my portfolios with different stocks and index funds in each account as b oth have different timeframes on how long I will be investing in each.
During that timeframe I worked 3 different jobs to be able to fund my ISA allowances for the maximum each year with the leftovers then going into my SIPP that I then transferred my existing pensions all to one place so I can choose what its invested in and have more control over my future.
Before going through the Affluence steps myself I went from having little spare money after each paycheck and not investing at all to being able to invest the majority of my income and taking control of my financial future.
I am the 'Guinea Pig' & First Official Member of the Build Affluence program as every step we coach you on I have done myself and taken the lessons, habits and disciplines that I have learnt doing the program to all aspects of my life which have then propelled me to the goal of continuing to build long term wealth.
